And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. -- Romans 8:28 (NIV)
For the last year or so, I have had more transportation issues than I care to keep track of. It seemed like every other month, there was something wrong with my car. The past six months have seemed to be the worst. Repairs were expensive since the car is more than fifteen years old and replacement parts were hard to come by. The situation got to the point that even my mechanic said that it would be a waste of everyone's time and money to continue trying to fix a car that could still end up giving out at any time. I thank God for my parents. Without their help the car would have NEVER gotten any of the repairs that were needed, and I could have been without transportation long before now.
Over the next week, I searched for used cars online and in newspapers but I did not find anything that I liked. On the Friday prior to Memorial Day I decided to take a late lunch, and I went to the deli across the street from my job. They were preparing to close for the day, and after I received my order I went to the drink dispenser. The primary cook passed me on her way to the back of the restaurant. She paused for a couple of seconds and then kept walking. She came back to me and prophesied that she saw me or someone that I know changing cars. I IMMEDIATELY broke into tears because it was confirmation from a completely neutral source. She asked me if I knew what I wanted yet, and I told her that I hadn't decided. She told me that all I needed to do was tell God what I wanted and He would take care of the rest, but whatever I chose would be WHITE. She also mentioned "NISSAN" several times.
Wait... it gets better.
Later that evening, my fiancé told me that he had responded to a post that he saw on Facebook asking if anyone needed a car. He says he has no idea who this person is or how they became Facebook friends. The poster told him that her husband worked for a local NISSAN dealership, and that they were having a Memorial Day sale over the holiday weekend. She gave her husband my fiancé's phone number. They were in contact with each other & we were set to visit the dealership on Memorial Day. We got there at about 1:30pm. After a little more than four hours, we drove away with not one, but TWO CARS!!!
And yes, mine is WHITE.
